Jury member Maja Felicitas is a professional cosplayer and a frequent guest on conventions: The designer is also founder of the live action promotion agency Defcon Unlimited, which is specialized in “badass promotions”.

Anime, manga and Japanese video games: Every week Nino Kerl talks about the latest news and everything of interest about the Japanese pop culture on his YouTube-channel “Ninotaku TV”. On his second channel “tokyo” he completes his programme with weekly unboxings of Japanese figures and statues. The 31-year-old lives in Munich, works for Webedia Gaming GmbH as creative director and is a huge fan of Japan ever since.

Most of you have already seen the comics and characters of Oskar Pannier from Berlin; his best-known creations are the characters Shakes and Fidget. The stories about the Human Warrior shakes and the gnome magician Fidget were originally published as a World of Warcraft parody. In 2009 the browser game “Shakes & Fidget – The Game” from the web comic series.
gamescom character jury: The Flash („Der Blitz“)
„The Flash“ („Der Blitz“) is a passionate gamer, comic collector as well as a sitcom junkie. Famous for his North German accent, he has been active in the Youtube scene for a few years already and reports about news, classics and everything on comics. Meanwhile, his channel has become the biggest German Youtube channel all around comics. Since 2013 the video series “Flashed” (“Geblitzt”) is his hobbyhorse.

Meet the Cosplayer: Danquish about the desire to bring a hero to life

Please tell us a bit about yourself: How did you get into cosplaying and when did you start?
I guess you could say I have always been a cosplayer at heart, as Hallowe’en was my favorite time of year growing up and I often made my own costumes and props as a way of bringing my favorite characters to life. I attended my first actual cosplay con in 2010 and I have been hooked ever since.

One of them has particularly fond memories of the world’s biggest trade show for gaming: cos player Luka. The 28 year old wowed fans and jury alike and thus managed to secure the second place at this year’s gamescom cosplay award.
